JOB INTERVIEWS: Conflict or Argument? What’s the Difference?

Have you ever had the question “tell me about a time when you experienced conflict in the workplace?”

But what does conflict actually mean? Is it the same as having an argument?

In this episode, we look at the difference between these two words and why the distinction matters in a job interview. Conflict can be healthy and constructive. An argument usually creates a very different picture.

We’ll look at how conflict can happen between teams, between people with different ideas, or over competing priorities, and how the words you choose can change the way your experience is understood.

And, of course, we’ll bring it back to mining and job interviews, so you can think about your own experience and prepare for the next time you hear that question.
